The annual paintin, again, blessed with beautiful weather.  I didn't take many pictures, but took in all the talent that is out there.  Here is just one of a little artist at work.

Here I was trying to come up with a Valentine's post for my blog and my daughter made me this gorgeous heart card.  

4 cats arts studio

I am so excited to be working with Joey Simon from the 4cats arts studio on their first issue of the 4Cats Magazine which will be launched  March 1st.  The first issue includes famous artist bios (this issue will feature an interview with Vancouver entrepreneur/artist Martha Sturdy), art project ideas and also showcases the incredible work of the 4Cats students.  Art should be a part of everyones life.   

Check out their winter programs right now.  There are a variety of winter break camps and dropins for December and January.  I wish I could take some of these. :)

artsy flowers

So I tried something different today. I am all about color as you know, but today I wanted a different look for all this spring explosion in my garden. I converted a few of the images into sepia and I do love that look. Very artsy as my husband said and he almost did not know what it was at first glance. What do you think. Leave a comment if you like. :)

dang grey days

Because it is so nasty out today I played around on my computer using some images I have taken in the past few weeks and months. I am into vintage right now. Love grainy and darker looks and desaturated colors. That can change tomorrow when the sun comes out. Here are some I played with earlier.

playing with textures and layers

After I finished editing one of my portrait session from the weekend, I picked one of my favorite images and applied some textures and other layers to it. I love this pictures. It would make a wonderful canvas.

revisiting the provence

Today I was going through my pictures I had taken in France last year. I found some cards I designed from my favorite images. But like so often, I design something and then it sits on my computer in a folder. So just for interest, here are some of the designs I have done.

the blue angel

Yesterday was a beautiful fall day and we went for a walk in the Ross Bay Cementry.  I took pictures of the blue angel before, about 10 years ago, I think.  He was really blue then, now I have to make him blue by postprocessing the image because all his paint is gone. 

Why I post this?  Something draws me to the angel.  He is so hauntingly beautiful despite all the decay over the years. 

exploring brushes

OK, I really don't have time to play but this is something very new for me.  I have seen other photographers use brushes in Photoshop so it was very tempting for me to try this as well.  I have no idea what I am doing, I just played around and it is far from what I would like to achieve.
