Today I was going through my pictures I had taken in France last year. I found some cards I designed from my favorite images. But like so often, I design something and then it sits on my computer in a folder. So just for interest, here are some of the designs I have done.
Finally I loaded all my images onto my computer at home. We are back from Germany now and there is one more thing I would like to share. On our way home from France, we drove straight into a storm front on the Autobahn in Germany. First off, lots of lightning and thunder. I tried to capture the lightning on camera but was not very successful. Here is the image of the storm front:
Then it started to rain, then a bit harder, and then it turned into hail and the hail turned into something else. We had a complete whiteout and the hail pieces were pretty big.
And all of a sudden this hail storm turned into a tornado. Leaves and branches were flying left, right and center, the traffic came to a complete crawl and the hail pounded down on us. I was so scared, I didn't even click the shutter. Some photojournalist I am. I must admit, that really scared me. I thought the car might not take the pounding of the hail and we might be carried off the Autobahn by the tornado like storm. This all lasted about five minutes. As soon as it started to ease off I took some pictures of the hail spraying off the car tires.
And this is what it looked like 10 minutes later. This front was with us until we arrived at our destination in Koenigstein.
We are back from France, after 2800 km of driving. Frankfurt to Lyon, then to Avignon and Marseille, from there to Cannes and then back to Frankfurt. Here are a few more impressions. I took over 1200 pictures, but what to choose? I loved the sunflower fields, the little streets, the beautifully decorated houses, the heat in the south of France, the markets and so much more. We should have stayed in France because here in Germany, the weather is not at all like July. Enough said, here are some pictures from France.
After breakfast at our hotel in Tarascon we visited Avignon today. All morning we wandered the streets of this charming city. Here are a few images. The colours of my pictures might be a little off because I am editing on my little laptop.

Here we are in the south of France touring the Provence. These are a couple of impressions from the lavender fields in the North Provence. More to come later if I find another internect access.
Here is an image I have taken just a couple of days ago at 33,000 feet. We were on the plane going to Germany and the sun was coming up and the moon going down.
We went for an early morning stroll along the strip. I loved the contrast of the different buildings, the ad boards, the architecture. Most impressive was the Bellagio. Disneyland for adults. Here are some of my impressions.
Today we went out to the desert and had a desert shoot with bride/groom models. Six buses full of photographers, a BBQ in the desert, lots of dust, and amazing light. Two well known photographers worked with the models for a couple of hours. I listened with half and ear but had to take my own images.
We just came back from a stroll along the Las Vegas strip. What a busy place. Here are a couple of images. More later.
I haven't updated in quite some time because I went back to germany, my home country. It is always nice to go back and visit friends and family and take long walks in the forest. My hometown is surrounded by forest. A beautiful area with lots of green space, neat little towns and even a castle.
