Now, that we are heading into fall and probably the rainy season, here is one of the sessions I had during our amazing late summer.  I am about a month behind with my blog posts.  Time to post some of those cute kids I photographed.

We had a fun time photographing Josienne and Lee's wedding.  Even though it was a very hot weekend, everybody stayed cool and relaxed.  Thanks so much Josienne, Lee and the entire bridal party for making our job easy.  Congratulations!

My summer has been so busy with sessions, family visiting from Europe and trips around the island and into the interior.  So no wonder, I am behind with my editing and blogging.   Here are a few favorites from a session I had in the early part of summer.  Thank you to all my families for waiting so patiently for their portraits.

I have been neglecting my blog for good over a week now and need to catch up on all the great family sessions I had lately.  Meeting this family again after one year was really nice.  I took portraits of this little man when he was a newborn and seeing him one year later is so wonderful.

So many beautiful images from this session.  This young lady is turning 4 this year and I have been taking her pictures every year.  She was so excited to see me and was so ready to have her pictures taken.  She even made the beautiful hearts with her mom.

We had another great day for a wildflower session in the park.  I photographed this family a few years back, so it was great to meet them all again.

Two of my favorite girls to photograph.  The perfect day for it, lots of props to play around with.  I wasn't the only one who had fun I think.

This was a lovely family session in the park.  I photographed the now big brother a long time ago.  Since then, they had a new addition to the family, a sweet little girl.  Here a few favorites from their session.

Can't wait to meet the next addition to this lovely family.  The little guy was quite the character and stole my heart.  We never told him to show his belly off, just a natural thing to do for him.  Mom has a belly, he has a belly that needs to be seen.

Ahh, spring.  Finally we can go out without freezing and take pictures.  This little cutie turned 6 months.  A serious little girl who takes in everything.  I even brought our little dog to get some smiles from her.

The year is almost coming to an end and Christmas just a few weeks away.  This family was so wonderful to brave the cold weather and the kids had fun running around and warming up.

"Mensch Aerger Dich Nicht" is a very popular German board game and it means "Don't Get Angry".  One of my favorite families was all up for a game and we started our family session indoors playing.  Here are just a few favs.

We were so fortunate to have this amazing weather last week.  I had lots of beach sessions and I am still trying to catch up with all the editing from my August portraits and weddings.  Thank you all for being so patient with me.  Here are a few favorites from a family beach session.  I met this family last year and I am looking forward to meeting them each year for a session.

I have known these two young ladies for quite some time now and we had a few sessions together.  I really enjoyed our last outing.  It felt like high summer, and that in mid September.  They were even brave enough to step into the ice cold ocean water.

Nothing more fun than photographing siblings.  Those two girls were so into having their pictures taken, that my job was super easy.  Time flew by and two hours later the sun went down.  Thanks for making my job so easy, you two. :)

back to school fashion {victoria portrait photographer}

This is one of my favorite session of the year, back to school.  We always have a lot of fun doing these sessions.  The car is loaded with clothes, accessories and shoes.  We explored some new locations and I played with one of my prime lenses I normally don't use.  

karen & wade married, 20 august 2011 {victoria wedding photographer}

Karen and Wade tied their knot on Saturday at St. Philips in Oak Bay.  A fully packed church and a lovely ceremony.  We then headed out for some other locations around town to do some fun pictures with the couple and bridal party.  Lots of fun!  Interesting enough, the groom's dad had recommended me for the wedding coverage.  A very seasoned and experienced wedding photographer himself who graciously stepped aside to let me take over for one afternoon.  Here are a few highlights from their day.  Congratulations, Karen and Wade!  Have a wonderful honeymoon!

With the sun lower in the sky and the chill in the evenings, I think our summer days are counted.  This is my favorite time of the year though, late summer.  I am so fortunate to capture family images every year and see the changes in the children.  Thank you to the patient parents to bring along props and make the session even more fun.

I had so much fun photographing this little girls 6 months session.  She has the cutest expressions and the most adorable smile.  Poor parents, they are in big trouble in the years to come.  :)  Can't say no to that cute face.

You probably all know that I love the flowers in Beacon Hill.  It is always pretty in there when the wildflowers are out.  Maybe another week or so, and they will be done.  They are already on their way out in my garden.  I loved working with this little girl.  She had lots of spark and so many questions, fun.

Last year around this time I took his mom's maternity pictures.  And now he is already one.  Loved the vintage plane his parents brought along. So perfect with his outfit.

In 2008 I photographed this couple's wedding.  Now they are expecting their first child.  Can't wait to meet the little person in a few weeks time.  Congratulations!

So here we are, end of February and Mother Nature decided to give us just a bit more of winter.  This weekend we went hiking, sunshine, blue sky, nice and crisp.  And today, we are all waking up to a huge amount of snow.  And that snow is dang heavy, I just shovelled out there.  Before I cleared the path though, I walked around and took some pictures.  Just too pretty not to.

Oh, and did I mention it is recycling day today.
